Adirondack Chairs

Coffee Creek Homewares
Australian made Adirondack Chairs hand made with Australian timbers.

My very first Adirondack Chair, made from a pine pallet.

The classic Adirondack Chair began it's life in the summer of 1903, when Thomas Lee wanted a comfortable chair for his holiday residents in The Adirondack Mountains of New York. It has been said he made the chair to accommodate his mother, who happened to be quite a large woman.
During a hunting expedition with his friend Harry Bunnell, who was looking for some work to do through the winter,he suggested that he should make some of the then Westport plank chairs. Harry patented the chair in 1904 and a American icon was born, and now over 106 years later we are still trying to improve or change this wonderful chair.

Australian spotted gum oiled

All our chairs are hand made by me, I use Australian spotted gum on the oiled chairs, it is a very hard timber and will last for a long time.
I use stainless steel screws, and gal bolts. all holes are tapered and then plugged

Light weight painted chairs are made from
low toxic treated pine and painted with exterior
decking and out door furniture paint.

If it's comfort you're looking for then this is the chair in which to sit back, relax and dream or just simply admire the beauty around you
